History

SAMAKY   was established at the eve of the twenty first century. SAMAKY is a local Non-Governmental and Non-profit Organization and was registered with Ministry of Interior by the announcement No 351, issued on 09th April 2001. From 2000-2017, SAMAKY office is located in Prey Chhor district, Kampong Cham province. Currently,  SAMAKY is based in Kampot Province. SAMAKY had and led by 5 board members. SAMAKY’s main developmental approach is to empower communities to work together to improve their living condition with dignity and focuses particularly on vulnerable people such as children, women and people with disabilities. [Turn the vulnerable people into the useful forces]

SAMAKY ‘s vision is to see Cambodian people understand their rights: know their rights, exercise their rights and enjoy their rights. The mission is to work with and alongside the vulnerable people such as the vulnerable people, persons with disability, PLHA, orphan, child labour exploited and indigenous people to strengthen their capacity to claim their rights to live with dignity. SAMAKY is actively involved in raising awareness about community health, child rights, food rights, natural resources and promoting local good governance, so that local duty bearers can respond to the needs local citizens, particularly the vulnerable people.
